A California man allegedly left his young toddler tied to a tree branch, wearing only a diaper.
On July 27, police were called to an illegal homeless camp along a highway after the property’s owner complained.
When police arrived they found a 2-year-old with a rope tied to its wrist, tethered to a tree branch. CBS13 reports the child didn’t have access to food and water. Weapons were found near the toddler.
The child's father, Jeffery Wilson, 27, was arrested for cruelty to a child and possession of a controlled substance. Wilson, the child’s mother and grandmother had been told to leave that parcel in the past, the Press Democrat reported.
The child has been put in the care of Child Protective Services. Two dogs were also removed from the camp.
