A homeowner in Texas had trouble coaxing his inebriated guests out of his home after a night of celebrating the end of 2016 - so he came up with a proper American method of removal: shoot at them until they leave. Unfortunately, the plan didn't go so well: the overzealous partier was shot dead.
According to NY Daily News: "The owner claimed that a fight erupted between him and the drunken man when he refused to leave, adding that he had no choice but to shoot." Police arrived to find the body at around 3:45 am on Sunday.
The shooting ocurred in a rather affluent neighborhood in which "homeowners are allowed to have small planes on their properties."
“It’s normally quiet. You never hear anything, especially from those people,” said neighbor Steve Jones. I don't know, that sounds like typical Texas to me.
“I’m just surprised their party led to that to be honest with you. They always seem like nice people. Most of the time, their parties are under control. The loudest thing they’ve got is their vehicles,” added neighbor Zach Mikulec.
Names of the perpetrator and the victim have not yet been released to the public, and no charges have been filed.
This, of course, isn't the only shooting that ocurred on New Year's Eve: gun violence was reported in both New York and Chicago.
