A locked iPhone is costing a man 180 days in jail. Christopher Wheeler of Hollywood, Florida must serve the jail time for not giving authorities his iPhone password in a police investigation.
According to the Miami Herald, the 41-year-old is being investigated for child abuse. Authorities claim that they could not unlock his phone, while he maintains that he did indeed give them his password.
“I swear, under oath, I’ve given them the password,” he told Circuit Judge Michael Rothschild. Earlier this month, the same judge found Wheeler guilty of contempt of court.
Wheeler was jailed on Tuesday.
