A man allegedly walked into an Oregon grocery store on Sunday covered in blood, with a knife in one hand and a woman’s severed head in the other. The man then stabbed a supermarket employee, The New York Daily News reported.
The employee’s coworkers immediately tackled the attacker to the ground, keeping him restrained while they waited for emergency responders to arrive, The Daily News said.
The victim was airlifted out of the store to a local hospital. Police have not provided any update as to the victim’s condition, according to Oregon Live.
Police said they found the corpse of a woman in a home 20 miles away from the supermarket, and they believe her death is connected to the other stabbing. Police did not reveal whether this woman had been decapitated or how she died.
Police also did not give the names of the suspect or his victims.
“I hope this person, the suspect, gets the help, honest to God, the help he needs,” said Kristin Courtain, a witness to the bizarre attack.
