Not to stereotype Florida, but you will definitely not be surprised to read that this story is from the state. CBS 47 News reports that a 56-year-old man named Nicolas Rojas has been arrested for snatching a woman’s panties—more than once.
An unnamed woman saw Rojas sneaking into her garage on surveillance camera footage. Why she has underwear cached in her garage isn’t explained, which is a fail on the part of the local reporter, but fill in the blanks however you want. I like to imagine she has a huge stockpile in case of car emergencies.
The woman watched Rojas steal her panties three times before deciding to confront him on Monday. She opened the garage door and says Rojas asked if she had any lemons. She said she didn’t and he left. Great cover up, my man.
She then followed him to his house to ask why he stole her underwear (the answer is obviously gross but he didn't offer one) and though he admitted to taking them he did not return them. Rojas later returned to her place to apologize, but the woman was alarmed and told authorities that she thought he had a gun. Her husband called the police after she told him what had been going on.
Rojas has an unspecified criminal history. That, combined with the fear that he was with firearm, caused officers to arrest him with extreme caution, surrounding the house and demanding his exit over a loudspeaker. His son came to the door to say his father was passed out drunk and didn’t have a gun. Eventually, Rojas was roused and exited his home, where he was arrested and charged with burglary.
No word on if the panties were returned or submitted to evidence.
