Mind-blowing Internet sensation Carlos Rodriguez, who gained notoriety after his unforgettable mug shot went viral, is once again making…headlines. The 31-year-old is the survivor of a car accident when he was high on drugs, which resulted in the loss of a large portion of his brain, giving the appearance that the front of his skull is caved in. Sadly, Rodriguez blew his top Monday afternoon and set a mattress on fire in the Miami duplex where he lives, and threatened people who lived there.
Rodriguez first came to the public’s attention in 2010 when the Miami New Times published his mug shot after he was arrested for soliciting a prostitute. Going by the nickname “Halfy,” he also appeared in a YouTube video in 2012 where he told kids not to do drugs, despite smoking what appeared to be marijuana. The video has been viewed more than 600,000 times.
Firefighter’s were called to the home of Rodriguez’s mother, where he lives, along with two other tenants. Halfy had apparently set the mattress in his bedroom on fire using an accelerant. He was charged with one count of first-degree arson and two counts of attempted felony murder. It is unknown at this time what his motivation, however, his lawyer said Rodriguez may be suffering from “mental issues.”
