Former Spice Girl Mel B filed a restraining order against estranged husband this week. According to TMZthe former Spice Girl has alleged that Stephen Belafonte—who she is in the process of divorcing— physically abused her and sexually exploited her.

In legal docs, Mel cites a long history of abuse allegations. In 2007, for instance, she claims that Belafonte choked her on the night of her Dancing with the Stars finale. The singer claims he would freak out and "beat me down to let me know he was in charge" any time she was successful. In 2012, he reportedly flew into a rage and punched her after believing Mel was flirting with Usher during a taping of X-Factor.

Aside from ongoing physical issues, Mel says that Stephen secretly recorded sex tapes of her and that he forced her to "participate in sexual intercourse with him and random women." When she would resist, he would say he'd release the tapes to ruin her.

She says that she tried to leave the marriage many times but Belafonte "threatened me with violence and threatened to destroy my life in every possible way ... destroy my career and take my kids from me." TMZ shared that federal agents searched the home for firearms on Friday (Belafonte is not allowed to carry due to a previous domestic violence conviction by another woman). It appears they did not find anything.
