Former O.C. star Mischa Barton has claimed her ex is blackmailing her with a sex tape, recorded without her consent.

On Monday, she will appear on an episode of Dr. Phil and talk about the video. According to People, Barton told the television host that her ex was aiming to ruin her through “complete emotional blackmail.”

“It was a crime,” Barton said in a clip of the show. “It is a serious crime to tape people without their knowledge like that and I had made the mistake of putting myself in the situation with the person so I just removed myself as quickly as I could, and then it just continued to be complete emotional abuse after that for the last several, several months.”

Barton's attorney previously stated: “I have a message for anyone who attempts to traffic in these photos or videos of Ms. Barton: we will find you, and we will come after you. We will fully prosecute you under every available criminal and civil law. You proceed at your peril.”

Barton learned about the sex tape’s existence in an unsettling way, when she heard that her ex was shopping it around.

“Somebody came up to me on the street… and said there’s something I need to tell you and I didn’t believe it at first, I couldn’t believe it,” she said on Dr. Phil. “Because I had loved this person and I didn’t think it was possible.”

According to the report, Barton’s attorney announced that they plan on prosecuting the alleged “revenge pornography” culprit under “every available civil and criminal law.”

“I just want to say that I’ve been put through an incredibly hard and trying time,” Barton said in a press conference earlier this month according to People. “This is a painful situation, and my absolute worst fear was realized when I learned that someone I thought I loved and trusted was filming my most intimate and private moments, without my consent, with hidden cameras. Then I learned something even worse: that someone is trying to sell these videos and make them public. I came forward to fight this not only for myself but for all the women out there.”

These allegations come less than two months after Barton was allegedly drugged at her own 31st birthday party. According to Jezebel, she was hanging over a fence at her Los Angeles home ranting about Ziggy Stardust and her mom being a witch. Footage of this scene was leaked online. She then committed herself to a hospital for a voluntary mental evaluation.

Barton told People that she was drugged with GHB.

“I voluntarily went to get professional help, and I was informed by their staff that I had been given GHB. After an overnight stay, I am home and doing well …. This is a lesson to all young women out there, be aware of your surroundings,” she said in a statement at the time.

Two weeks after the GHB incident, Barton crashed a U-Haul truck into an apartment building while moving out of her apartment, according to People.
