Breonna Turk, 24, was shamed by the older woman after she pulled her 4-year-old son onto a subway elevator before everyone on the elevator had gotten off.
The elderly woman “told the defendant to teach her child to wait when people were exiting the elevator,” said Assistant District Attorney Michael Dinet at Turk’s arraignment, reported the Daily News.
Turk allegedly responded by punching the woman, resulting in a felony charge of second-degree assault. Turk even used the older woman’s cane to whack a bystander who tried to intervene.
Her attorney said that the single mother had never been arrested before and turned herself in.
Her son is autistic, Turk’s godfather told The New York Post.
