Three teenagers are behind bars after a home robbery turned into a savage sexual assault, where a mother of two was tasered and raped in front of her infant children. Police in Gwinnett County, Georgia, outside Atlanta, arrested 17-year-old Francisco Palencia and an unnamed 15-year-old girl in connection with the crime Tuesday, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post. Their arrests follows that of Josue Ramirez-Aguilar, 19, who was apprehended two weeks earlier in connection to the same crime.
The crime occurred on May 12, when the victim returned from work to her home in Norcross, Georgia. With her were her children, one in a car seat, the other she carried under her arm, their ages have not at this time been released. Once inside she discovered Palencia and Ramirez-Aguilar inside her living room, wearing dark clothes and ski masks, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The teens threw two pots of boiling water on her, severely burning her shoulder, and shocked her with a taser multiple times, according to the police report.
Palencia and Ramirez-Aguilar then forced the women into her bedroom, where they made her remove her clothes and perform oral sex on them. According to the police report, “(She) complied with the male’s demands out of fear for what could be done to her children.” They then took turns raping her on her bed. The report says the victim’s older son had followed his mother and the men into the bedroom, and sat on the bed and watched as she was raped.
After raping the woman, Palencia and Ramirez-Aguilar left, stealing a jewelry box, a school ID and a German Shepherd puppy that had been sleeping on the porch. They had entered the home by cutting through a screen on the woman’s back porch and entering through an unlocked sliding glass door. Police believe the 15-year-old girl had driven Palencia and Ramirez-Aguilar to the apartment but was not in the apartment during the assault.
Following their arrests, Palencia, Ramirez-Aguilar and the 15-year-old girl were charged with home invasion, kidnapping, rape, aggravated battery, aggravated sodomy and felony cruelty to children. As of Wednesday night, Palencia and Ramirez-Aguilar were being held in Gwinnett County jail without bond. Gwinnett County police Cpl. Deon Washington said additional arrests may be forthcoming.
