A Pennsylvania tipster called police on Wednesday after two young boys were heard screaming in the neighboring home while their parents allegedly overdosed on heroin in the house bathroom, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
When police arrived at the house at about 8pm, the boys, ages four and one, answered the door.
“Mommy and Daddy are up in the bathroom and they are sick,” the older child reportedly told the officers.
Inside, the boy’s father, Sean Dolhancryk, 32, was reportedly slumped against the door as their mother, Sandra Dicianno, 31, reportedly lay unconscious on the floor. Police allegedly found three empty bags of heroin, seven full bags of heroin, two hyperdermic needles, and a bent spoon in the bathroom.
The couple survived the reported overdose and are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of children, and recklessly endangering another person.
Their children are reportedly staying with a relative.
“The heroin problem is only getting worse,” said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood. “It’s so far out of control that it seems like nothing can be done. I don’t know what the answer is.”
