New Details About Adnan Sayed's Case Have Emerged, Including An Alibi

New details emerge in Serial case from the people who knew Adnan best

The podcast Serial brought the 15-year-old murder case of Adnan Syed to national attention. Syed was convicted of the murder of his girlfriend Hae Min Lee in high school, and has been in prison since. In July, a judge ordered a new trial based on evidence that was never presented, including an unheard alibi. Now, the people closest to Syed are opening up with never-before-heard details.

Crime Watch Daily revisits the case with new photos and interviews with Adnan's high school friends, including Krista and Saad, who initially helped bring the case to Sarah Koenig of Serial, as well as legal experts.

Many believe the key to Adnan's innocence is that fellow classmate Asia McClain was his alibi. His defense at the time largely dismissed her. Asia spoke out as part of the program.

While he awaits his new trial, Adnan has continued to stay in the news. In October, he asked to be released on bail.

His lawyers and supporters offered to put up $1 million in bail money for his release.
