Tennessee police are searching for a man who allegedly killed a young nurse in a “random” attack while he was robbing her home.
Tiffany Ferguson, 23, was allegedly stabbed to death while the man robbed the condo she shared with a roommate, People magazine reported. The roommate was alerted to the robbery as she heard Ferguson’s dying screams.
“From what we can tell at this moment, this does appear to be a random act, a very rare random act of violence in this particular area,” Don Aaron, a police spokesman, told reporters, said CBS News.
The suspect wore a hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans with holes in the legs, and boots. He apparently took some items from the condo, but police haven’t specified what.
“She had a heart for people and wanted to help those who were less fortunate,” Ferguson’s twin sister Ali Staggs said in a statement. “She was constantly giving to others. She was a daughter, sister, and friend. To know her was to love her.”
