A man was killed by a sword early Thursday during an argument with his live-in girlfriend in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
According to Tulsa World, 38-year-old Micca Lois Thompson told police dispatchers she stabbed her boyfriend after he choked and slapped her. Her boyfriend, 36-year-old Ronnie Beetz, died later at a nearby hospital.
Thompson was arrested on a complaint of second-degree murder, according to the Associated Press.
She told police that after being assaulted by Beetz, she “retrieved a Katana-type sword from nearby her and swung it at (the victim), striking him on his abdomen.” according to a police affidavit.
When police arrived, they found Beetz in the living room, “minimally conscious.” Officers took Thompson into custody. The two lived together for 15 years and had children.
Thompson was booked into the Tulsa Jail, with bond set at $500,000. Her next court appearance is on June 8
