Diamond Reynolds, the girlfriend of controversial police brutality victim Philando Castile, has been arrested as a suspect in a brutal assault. Reynolds was charged on Friday for attacking a woman with a hammer in St. Paul, Minnesota, per the Star Tribune.
27-year-old Reynolds, along with Chnika Blair and Dyamond Richardson, have been charged second- and third-degree assaults stemming from the Tuesday morning incident. According to police docs, authorities reported that a group of women "jumped" the victim. Per the victim's account, she was driving and noticed a white SUV following her. She pulled into a parking lot and was approached by Reynolds and Blair. She claims Reynolds punched her in the head and struck her with a hammer. She alleges that Richardson then arrived on the scene and chased her down with mace.
The three attackers allegedly fled the scene and the victim was taken to the hospital. She later identified all three women via photo lineups.
Per the Star Tribune, Bail has been set at $90,000 for each woman. They are expected in court today. Police claim the women had a feud. Apparently, Richardson was mad at a friend of the victim (whom she accused of picking a fight at her work). Reynolds supposedly had an issue with the same friend, claiming she damaged her car.
In July 2016, Ramsay came to national attention after she live-streamed the death of her boyfriend Philando Castile on Facebook. He was shot fatally by police during a traffic stop.
