Police found the remains of missing college student Zuzu Verk in a shallow grave in Texas, authorities confirmed Monday, and they arrested her boyfriend for the crime of concealing her corpse.

A Border Patrol agent found the remains on Friday, and Alpine Police Department confirmed it was Verk through her dental records, People reported.

Fabian first reported Verk missing in October after he claimed he hadn’t seen her in two days. Soon, he was named a suspect, along with Chris Estrada, Fabian’s friend, who Fabian called twice during the early morning of Verk’s disappearance.

Neighbors said that the night Verk went missing, the couple had been having a normal dinner together when they began arguing after 11 p.m., The Washington Post reported. Then, late in the night, the neighbors heard a loud thump.

The next day, Estrada tried to get his car cleaned and detailed at an auto shop on three separate occasions.

Police say that Estrada has cooperated with the investigation but Fabian has not.

A spokesman for the Alpine Police Department told Oxygen that Fabian and Estrada have not yet received additional charges in Verk’s death, but would not say whether a homicide charge was forthcoming.
