A man and woman in Houston, Texas were charged with felony criminal mischief and deadly conduct Monday for allegedly shooting at buildings from a moving car, and posting videos of the act on Snapchat.
Michael Anthony Cuellar, 28, and Sierra Tarbutton, 27, allegedly recording the Snapchat videos while shooting randomly at a Houston neighborhood in September, Fox 26 reports. The clip has since gone viral. It was also sent to police, which led to the arrests. Tarbutton was arrested Monday. Cuellar turned himself in on Tuesday, ABC 13 reports. Nobody was hurt in the shooting. However, there was some damage. One business owner claims a $33,000 store sign was damaged beyond repair.
"People need to understand they were just shooting into the air, shooting at actual property," Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said.
According to reports, the pair is no strangers to local police. Cuellar, a local rapper, is known to police as “Money Mike." Tarbutton allegedly threatened a police officer’s daugthers in the past, according to court paperwork.
"That is two cute little girls, those are going to be two cute little tombstones,” she allegedly said to the cop.
The two suspects spoke to ABC13.
"I love Houston and I have respect for HPD [Houston Police Department]," Cuellar told the outlet. "All I gotta say, homie."
“We were drinking at the time and were riding around, shooting in the air," Tarbutton said.
Tarbutton’s mother, Sonya Shumway, told ABC13 that her daugther is going through “a rough patch.”
