Three recent posts to an Instagram account that allegedly belong to murder suspect Ager Hasan are being investigated by police.
Hasan, 24, of Hamilton, Ontario faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of his girlfriend 22-year-old Melinda Vasilije. She was found dead in April.
The Instagram posts were posted Monday night. One is a video of the suspect speaking but it does not have audio.
Another was a video of an illustrated man melting.
A third post that has since been deleted contained a photo of Hasan and Vasilije with the caption,"I regret everything negative I ever did to you."
Not long after Vasilije’s death in April, a Reddit user who claimed to be Hasan wrote a confession.
Since then, Hasan has been the subject of an international manhunt. He reportedly been spotted in in Tennessee in May, and police believe may have been headed for Mexico according to VICE.
Cherri Greeno, media relations co-ordinator for Waterloo Regional Police, said police are investigating the Instagram posts.
"We were made aware of a recent Instagram post from someone alleging to be Ager Hasan," she told CBC News on Tuesday. "We're investigating to determine the validity of that post, as we do with any social media post claiming to be from Mr. Hasan because they become potential evidence."
