A Michigan singer was found dead inside her home on Friday.
A friend found 27-year-old Egypt Covington’s body in her Belleville home, according to WJBK-TV. In addition to working as an account manager, Covington sang locally and won the Country Idol title held at Fraser’s Pub in Ann Arbor.
Police have not yet released how she has died. According to MLive, a homicide investigation is underway. Police said Covington possibly knew her killer.
“She made our lives better. She made being around her better, and that’s why people would come to be around her because she lifted us up,” the victim’s father, Chuck Covington, told WJBK-TV. “And that’s gone now. That’s gone.”
Anyone with information about Covington's death can call Van Buren Township police at 734-699-8930.
