Today in aging white celebrities being petty: Scott Baio is accusing Nancy Mack (the wife Chad Smith, the drummer of The Red Hot Chili Peppers) of battery after the two allegedly found themselves in a fight over political issues. Scott Baio is one of the few actors who has been openly and vehemently pro-Donald Trump and is claiming that Mack came after him following a confrontation about his politics.
Baio was attending an unspecified event with his daughter in Thousand Oaks, California, when he was approached by Mack who wanted to discuss his politics. Eventually, according to Baio, their argument turned into a physical altercation. Baio went to police to file a report, which CNN obtained. The report says that "'hands/ fists/ feet' were used to attack Baio but lists 'no/ minor bodily injury.'"
Despite the police report, no charges are being filed against Mack. “Our investigators are looking into this matter right now,” says Captain Garo Kuredjian, the media relations officer at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
A police report but no actual charges? Is Baio exaggerating the story to stir up sympathy for Trump supporters or is something else going on here?
CNN attempted to reach out to Mack and the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a comment but got no reply.
