An infamous serial killer has been found mysteriously dead. According to the Daily Mail, Joseph Roy Metheny, who admitted to cutting his victims up and selling them as bbq, was found dead at the Western Correctional Institution in Cumberland, Maryland on Saturday.
Metheny was sentenced to two life sentences without parole—an initial death sentence was later appealed—for his crimes. He was convicted of two murders, 23-year-old Kathy Spicer and 39-year-old Cathy Ann Magaziner, but also confessed to other murders he was never convicted of.
It was never proven in court but Metheny reportedly said in a confession that he hacked the bodies of Magaziner and Spicer and sold them as "special meat" at his roadside stand. "I had real roast beef and pork sandwiches and why not they were very good," he wrote. "The human body tastes was very similar to pork. If you mix it together no one can tell the difference."
At trial, he was never repentant, and he requested the death penalty.
Metheny was 62 years old when he died.
