A British man admitted to raping a woman before marrying his pregnant fiancée just a few hours later, the New York Daily News reported.
The brutal attack happened on Jan. 13, when Derry McCann, 28, dragged a woman into east London’s Victoria Park, played “mind games” with his victim, and then photographed her, stole her bra, and stole her cell phone, prosecutors said.
"A little after midnight the victim was walking the short distance home after socializing with a friend," prosecutor Kate Bex told the court, reported the Hackney Gazette. "Within feet of the (park) exit the defendant grabbed her and pulled her off the park and began a sustained and systematic attack.”
McCann then attended his own wedding later that day.
Previously, when McCann was 17, he raped a 30-year-old woman in a different London park, with a similar mode of assault. He received a life sentence for that crime, but was recently released after reaching his minimum sentence, despite a judge’s warning that he may “[commit] similar offenses in the future.”
In the most recent attack, McCann pleaded guilty. He will be sentenced Apr. 28.
