New gruesome details have emerged in the murder of Victoria Martens. According to her autopsy report, the 10-year-old was sexually abused prior to her rape and murder.
The Albuquerque Journal shares that Martens had the sexually transmitted disease HPV (human papillomavirus), which forensics experts say proves sexual abuse prior to her death on August 23. Martens' mother, Michelle, admitted that she solicited men (online and at work) to have sex with her daughter. As previously reported, she told police she enjoyed watching the act.
Michelle, along with boyfriend Fabian Gonzales and Gonzales' cousin, Jessica Kelley, are currently charged with Victoria's murder in her Northwest Albuquerque apartment. Michelle told police she gave her daughter methamphetamine and watched her boyfriend rape and strangle her daughter. Per court documents, Kelley stabbed the child and then helped Gonzales dismember and set her on fire in the bathtub.
Neighbors called the police.
The three are charged with kidnapping, child abuse resulting in death, tampering with evidence and other crimes. Kelley and Gonzales are charged with criminal sexual penetration of a minor.
The Journal reports that Michelle, Gonzales, and Kelley are in jail. Their trial is scheduled for October.
