A doctor at a cosmetic medical center is coming under fire following the death of a woman on the operating table. On Thursday, 30-year-old Lattia Baumeister died while getting a procedure with Dr. Osakatukei “Osak” Omulepu at Seduction Medical Center in Doral, Florida. According to WSVN, Omulepu's medical license was revoked in April for harming other patients.
The doctor was appealing that decision and he was allowed to continue practicing until the Florida Medical Board made its final decision.
Other patients have reportedly been unhappy with his work. Four different patients filed complaints with the state in 2015 over accusations of bad fat injections, anesthesia errors, and puncturing organs. “He punctured my colon in several different locations. Not in just one,” said former patient Nyosha Fowler.
Omulepu often shares photos of his work on Instagram.
According to authorities, Baumeister was getting a procedure when she suffered a medical emergency. It's not known what the procedure was.
Authorities are investigating the doctor.
Omulepu’s attorney, Monica Rodriguez, shared in a statement, “Dr. Omulepu is absolutely devastated by the complication that occurred in the case. This is the first patient death he has had.”
Seduction Medical Center has been shut down by the city. The owners of this facility appear to oversee Seduction by Jargon Plastic Surgery in Aventura. In March, two women suffered medical emergencies while getting Brazilian butt lifts at that Florida facility.
