James Robert Louis Wood, a Utah 19-year-old, has been charged with 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of dealing in harmful materials to a minor by an adult into sending him nude pictures.
According to People, Wood created a fake Facebook profile for a woman named “Jessica Ford." Wood used images of the woman to seduce 11 boys through Facebook messenger and encourged them to send him naked images of themselves. He used naked images of the woman he posed as to coax them. Wood then shared the images he received with friends at school and a sibling of one of the victims. It is unclear if "Jessica," the woman Wood posed as, is a minor or an adult.
"James would make friends with these individuals on Facebook Messenger, and after some conversations back and forth he would request nude photos which the minor victims had sent him," reads the charges, according to Deseret News.
"James stated that he created a fake Facebook account in order to obtain nude photographs of males," a warrant states. "Officer Truscott and your affiant were able to identify 11 of the males as juveniles."
Wood was arrested for the crimes, which Police communicated with him about in March, on Friday. He remains in police custody in lieu of $170,000 bond.
Wood has already confessed to police about the fake profile, but has not yet officially entered a plea. He may or may not have legal representation arranged.
