A teen sex slave escaped when her captor wasn't home. According to the NY Post, the 19-year-old girl was held captive in a basement in Milwaukee and forced to have sex with multiple men. She was able to break free when her captor left the house for a court appearance.
The suspect, 24-year-old Benjamin Franklin Hooks, allegedly kept the victim locked up in the basement with a pit bull. According to Fox 6, she sometimes was put in a dog cage, blindfolded or forced to wear a dog collar. The teen told authorities she “would usually get one to two meals each day,” from food she shared with the dog.
According to the criminal complaint, the teen came to the home to care for the 69-year-old homeowner. The victim said, "soon after, people started showing up and taking over the house," including Hooks. The homeowner confirmed that random men forced their way into the home. "I didn't have an (expletive) thing to do with this. He snuck in. He snuck in and did it," the homeowner said.
Hooks left the home for his court appearance. Records show that he is facing separate charges involving human trafficking, in which the victims are a 20-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl. It's not clear if he was going to court that day about these cases specifically.
