A perverted semi-truck driver with a vampire fetish avoided trial by pleading guilty to transportation for illegal sexual activity Thursday in Salt Lake City, Utah. Timothy Jay Vafeades, 56, is accused of abducting an 18 and a 19-year-old woman and keeping them locked up in his truck, named “The Twilight Express,” for months on end where he would beat and sexually assault them, while making them wear fake vampire dentures like him. Most disturbing is the fact that according to court ducoments, Vafeades has at least six other victims, with a history of abuse going back more than 20 years.
Timothy Vafeades was arrested in 2013 when a state trooper at a weigh station in Minnesota noticed bruises on his 18-year-old companion / captive. After running their names through the system, they discovered the girl had a lifetime protection order against Vafeades. After his arrest another girl came forward saying she had also been held against her will and repeatedly sexually abused by the teamster for six months before escaping his grasp. Though none of his victims will have to testify against him, it is said six other woman have filed complaints against him, going back to 1994. Four of the six were formerly married to Vafeades, while one was a relative.
By pleading guilty to the charges Timothy Vafeades avoids being tried on the more serious charges of kidnapping. This follows an earlier plea deal for transporting child pornography in April. However, terms of the deal include a 20 year sentence, which local authorities intend to rigorously enforce. This should effectively defang the 18 wheeler wack job, who will be a shriveled old man before seeing daylight again. [Photo via Facebook]
