The victim of a vicious beating by a mob of men in The Bronx died Wednesday, turning what was a gang assault case into a homicide. Donell Soto, 36, sustained significant injuries after the incident, which happened in the wee hours of October 2nd, at the Parrilla Latina steakhouse in the borough’s Kingsbridge neighborhood. Soto was seen arguing with a woman outside the restaurant and shoving her to the ground, which precipitated the attack.

Local security cameras captured video of the violent confrontation, as a group of men swarmed Soto, kicking and beating him until he lost consciousness. Jenny Gutierrez, 22, Joel Hernandez, 23, and Hector Quezada, 23, were arrested in the aftermath of the beating and all three were charged with gang assault. It is unknown, whether more charges will filed against them following Soto’s death. Yesterday, police released photos of four more suspects they would like to question in regards to the matter.
