An off-duty LAPD officer shot at two young teenagers on his lawn—resulting in the arrest of the two kids, the New York Daily News reported.

Cellphone video of the incident went viral, as the cop tries to detain a 13-year-old boy that he claimed threatened him at 2:40pm last Tuesday.

In the video, the 13-year-old claims that the man called a female friend of his a slur, and that the man mistakenly heard the teen threaten to “shoot” him when he had in actuality threatened to “sue.” He also claims that the cop tackled him unprovoked.

Another boy, 15, tries to help free the 13-year-old, resulting in the cop beginning to shoot, even while holding onto the 13-year-old.

The children were unharmed in the shooting. Even so, the mother of the 13-year-old said the incident was “traumatizing,” according to local station KTLA.

"He's 13 years old, for God's sake," she said.

The 13-year-old and 15-year-old were arrested for assault and battery. The officer has not been charged, but the LAPD has begun an internal investigation into the case. None of their names have been released.

"He did cooperate with the investigation to the point that he came to the station, but he did not provide a voluntary statement, which is his right," Sgt. Daron Wyatt told the Daily News. "Charges have not been filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. That goes for all the participants involved, including the officer."
