A Florida mom stopped her son from continuing to sexually assault his ex-girlfriend, leading to the man’s arrest, The Gainesville Sun reported.

Brandon Jermain Halstead, 22, of Gainesville, broke into his ex’s bedroom by breaking the latch on her door, according to an arrest report. He then allegedly pushed her onto her bed, saying “baby, let’s make this right.”

The woman tried to push Halstead off of her, but he responded by punching her in the face, throat, and upper torso.

The victim managed to contact Halstead’s mother, who ran to the scene, immediately yelling at her son that she didn’t raise him “like that,” police alleged.

The man then stole his ex’s phone and then fled the scene, police claimed.

He was arrested on Tuesday and charged with sexual battery and assault during burglary.

He is being held on $510,000 bail.
