An up-and-coming WWE star named Paige was recently the target of a phone hack, in which thieves stole sex tapes and photos. Paige confirmed that the images were real in a Twitter post, in which she writes about how she felt like attacking herself when videos started circulating. “I had days I wanted to physically harm myself,” writes Paige, “Not only for what the millions was telling me but because my husband and family were suffering the same fate from the internet because of my mistake.”
Paige is engaged to former heavyweight champ Alberto Del Rio, according to the New York Daily News. Del Rio also posted to social media, in full support of his future wife.
“I doesn't matter how many times you try to break us... is not gonna happen... we were harassed by a company we still are... cause you don't fool me MF's I know I was you trying to destroy us... destroy my baby... she's better stronger than all of you pieces of...We are getting married Wednesday … Have a nice and go and F... yourself hatters.”
Simple, but to the point.
Though Paige does not write who exactly is responsible for the hack, she does imply that the videos were taken when she was younger, writing, “I made a big mistake. Huge. I put trust in the hands of someone that took advantage of a young girl years ago. It was my mistake and I’ll always take responsibility.”
She also says she’s planning to turn this experience into an opportunity to educate others on cyber bullying.
“How many people have to suffer because of the internet and the cowards behind the keyboard. Or how many men and women have fell into the same trap as me and made those mistakes?” Paige writes. “That’s why we are taking this massive negative and making some kind of positive. We wanna bring those people to justice and also take down the one who are trolls.”
Paige proposed to Del Rio in the WWE ring, which led many to question the reality of their union. With this level of support and a wedding planned for this week, it’s looking very real.
