A former Christian school teacher from Oregon was allegedly caught in the act of sleeping with a teen boy by her husband. Andrea Nicole Baber, 29, was arrested on Friday after being accused of having sexual relations with a 17-year-old student for over a year, the Register-Guard reported. The abuse allegedly began when the victim was just 15.
Baber’s husband reportedly walked in on her and the student in the couple’s bed, according to The News-Review. His wife was partially unclothed. The husband also reportedly discovered that his wife had been sexting the teen after he found topless photos of her, which were sent to the underage boy from her phone. And the husband wasn’t the only one who found out something was wrong prior to the arrest.
The victim’s parents also reportedly received an email from an anonymous tipster. It asked the parents if they were aware their son was in a sexual relationship with Baber, according to Fox News. Photographs of the teacher and their son pictured together in Baber’s bed were attached to the email, according to an affidavit. That concerning message prompted the victim’s dad to call the police.
The victim reportedly told police that he had sex with his teacher at least once a week at her home. He also claimed that Baber supplied him with alcohol and marijuana from time to time.
Baber no longer works at Logos Christian Academy, where she allegedly met the victim. She now faces multiple charges including sodomy and rape, according to the New York Post. It is unclear if she has a lawyer who can speak on her behalf at this time.
Her biography on the Logos Christian Academy, which has since been taken down, stated, “Andrea has always felt called to work with youth and is very excited that God opened the door for her to be part of the Logos team. She lives with her husband, dog and cat just south of Eugene.”
