Comedian Hannibal Buress has been arrested for disorderly intoxication over the weekend. As People shares, the 34-year-old's arrest was caught on camera. The Miami Police Department tweeted that the Broad City actor was arrested on December 9 at 10:30 p.m.
A video has surfaced of the incident. In it, the comedian is seen talking to the cops that arrest him.
Am I under arrest? For what?” Buress asks in the video. “Explain what I’m detained for. What I am detained for?” The officer says, "For trespassing." The comedian says, "You know y'all goofy as f---" and that the police “don't have probable cause for anything."
As the Miami Herald shares, the police report from the incident says that Buress was seen intoxicated, smelling of alcohol and with bloodshot eyes. He asked an officer at Northwest Second Avenue and 20th Terrace in the Wynwood neighborhood—where many Art Basel events took place over the weekend—to get him an Uber. The officer declined. That's when, per the police report, the comedian became “angry and belligerent.” He was asked to leave the area but went to a nearby venue instead. The officer apparently followed himas he felt Buress was too drunk. The report says: “Once outside, the defendant stood by the front gate and continued yelling profanities. I, then again, asked him to leave the area about five times. A crowd began to gather and vehicular traffic slowed as they watched the defendant yelling and being disorderly. Defendant arrested.”
Buress posted bail before 6 a.m. Sunday.
