Perhaps an Ohio trio thought they were doing a service to their community after they kidnapped a pair of 14-year-old alleged car thieves but the cops ended up arresting them.

Kenyatta Ware II, 21, George Barnes [not pictured], 29, and Shelia Beale, 49 are accused of chasing down the two boys after they suspected they stole Beal’s car. The keys were left inside of the unlocked brown 2013 Chrysler 200 and the teens reportedly took advantage, according to WBAL in Cleveland. Beale, her son Ware, and Barnes were able to track down the stolen Chrysler with the car’s GPS.

The group jumped into their own cars and caught up with the Chrysler. Then, guns were allegedly drawn. Barnes fired several gunshots into the allegedly stolen car, according to WBAL. A chase ensued and several utility poles were reportedly hit before the teens crashed into a house, which was reportedly severely damaged. After the car was halted, the group allegedly knocked the teens down and then held them at gunpoint and forced them into the trunk of their car, according to Cleveland.com. From there, the trio drove the boys to the Cleveland Police Fourth District headquarters.

Did they get thanks for capturing alleged criminals?

Not really. They got charged instead. All three adults have been arrested and charged with felonious assault and kidnapping. The three pleaded not guilty in court, where a prosecutor stated that they "turned the city into a chaotic mess."

As for the two minors, they were arrested too. It’s unclear if they have been formally charged, but they were booked suspicion of grand theft of a motor vehicle, according to Cleveland.com. The two teen boys were also taken to a hospital to treat injuries suffered during the incident.
