A homeless man from Oregon allegedly chased a person down and stabbed him with a pair of scissors before blaming the violent act on Taylor Swift, according to The Sacramento Bee.
Brent Shannon Thicksten, 43, told police that the pop star behind the hit song “Look What You Made Me Do” "told me to kill him," according to court documents. Thicksten was arrested after the incident, which took place in downtown Portland last week. He told police that Swift was his wife and that he and the singer “are one.” At some point, while talking to police, Thicksten stopped offering up information, citing his "top secret clearance."
The victim didn’t require hospitalization for his injuries, even though he suffered a 2-inch laceration on his back, according to court documents. That victim told police he was afraid of Thicksten and was attempting to flee. Police believe that Thicksten was also threatening others over the weekend.
The Sacramento Bee reported that Thicksten is being charged with second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and other charges. It is unclear at this time if he has a lawyer.
This isn’t the first time he has been in legal trouble.
In 2014, he stole two forklifts from the city. He then took them for a destructive joyride, resulting in ripped-up street grates. He "appeared to be high on something" during that rampage. According to KATU, Thicksten also pleaded guilty to a robbery charge earlier this year.
