The manhunt is over for the man who allegedly shot a beloved employee at a bar owned by Nick and Drew Lachey in Cinncinnati. According to People, 36-year-old Lavoris Hightower was indicted for attempted murder, felonious assault, weapons under disability and tampering with evidence in the shooting at the singing family's bar called Lachey's.
Authorities were searching for Hightower since Thursday. He is the suspect in the shooting of Ellie Richardson, a young mother who was shot on Thanksgiving, when she was leaving the bar owned by the Lachey brothers. Hightower's attorney denies his responsibility in the shooting. “My client is not guilty of the offense. My client says he was not there at the time of the shooting and there has not been any evidence to support that he is guilty.”
As previously reported, Richardson was nearly hit by a van before the incident. She was seen arguing with the driver and then shot. After being taken to the hospital, she is recovering. She is said to be preparing for further surgery to repair her cheek bone, eye socket and other fractures.
The Lachey brothers, known for their musical group 98 Degrees, have been outspoken in helping find the culprit since the incident. "Please help Ellie and her family get through this most difficult time," tweeted Nick. Added Drew, “Ellie is the brightest light and she will find a way to shine through this darkness. Anyone with any information, help us find some justice." They opened the bar in 2015.
Hightower is expected to be arraigned today.
