Mel B and her husband, Stephen Belafonte, have come to an agreement in their divorce. As TMZ revealed, the couple came to a deal on November 8. As part of the agreement, he will destroy any compromising videos of the former Spice Girl, and he will receive spousal support for the next three years.
As shared earlier, Mel B and her now ex have gone through a contentious divorce battle. In September, she was
under criminal investigation for witness tampering. She had claimed that Belafonte was abusive to her. Forty-one-year-old Mel B claimed that she endured numerous types of abuse over the course of the marriage, including physical violence and mental intimidation. She said Belafonte forced her into group sex and threatened "to release compromising videos" as blackmail.
Belafonte denied claims of physically abusing Mel. The couple's former nanny, Lorraine Gilles, was also entangled in the divorce. She was reportedly part of their group sex, and Mel claimed that she had a separate affair with Belafonte. The former nanny filed her own defamation suit against Mel, claiming that all relations were affirmed by the singer.
Mel B and Belafonte were married in 2007. The divorce settlement, which still needs to be signed off on by a judge, allows both to share custody of their 6-year-old daughter.
