On November 15, 1982, De Anne Lynn Johnson of Vacaville, California was killed when she went to a party and never came home. Now, 34 years later, an arrest has been made in the cold case of the murdered teen.

According to KRON4Marvin Ray Markle has been taken into custody on a murder charge. At the time, Johnson was 14 and he was 17.

ABC7 explains that the murder shook the community. Johnson was found beaten by train tracks near her home. Both Johnson and Markle apparently attended the same party. Police hint that someone may have shared key details with authorities all these years later. "Some people share things with people and confide in people over the years," Matt Lydon of the Vacaville police said. "And that's happened."

"We miss her very much," Johnson's mother, Ginger Dimpel, said. "And we are encouraged that the truth will prevail, and finally--justice will be done."

More details about the arrest are expected today.
