Rapper Lil Peep's death is being looked at as part of a criminal investigation. TMZ reports that private messages about the 21-year-old are being reviewed as part of his sudden death on his tour bus in Tucson, Arizona.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that local police looking at texts allegedly sent from a woman who reportedly went to Peep's tour bus before he died and then sent meessages to a friend: "GBC [Lil Peep] high af because of me and my friend lol," she reportedly wrote. "He passed the f*** out my brother called and I tried to get him to say hi to my brother but he wouldn't wake up ..."
It's unclear how the woman is connected to the rapper but there are photos on TMZ of her with Peep previously.
There is no official word on the cause of death of the rising star. As reported yesterday, sources tell TMZ that fentanyl-laced drugs may have been the culprit. Law enforcement sources tell the site that local authorities have received numerous tips that Peep was taking drugs that were laced with the opioid. It's unclear whether the fentanyl was intentionally ingested or an accidentally taken.
His music and social media posts previously featured drug use and messages about ending his life.
