Preachers of L.A. Makes Waves on ABC's Nightline

By Oxygen

Last night, ABC's Nightline devoted about 10 minutes to the Preachers of L.A. -- weeks before its on-air premiere Oct. 9. As part of a series titled "Faith Matters," Nightline explores why some find the very idea of the show to be controversial.
In the segment, Bishop Noel Jones talks about his love of fast cars and explains what he hopes viewers will get out of watching the show: "Even the people you put on pedestals have to deal with the same problems you have to deal with."
Also included: Bishop Ron Gibson ministering on the streets of Compton with his "glock" for protection; Pastor Jay Haizlip waxing poetic at a skatepark; and Minister Deitrick Haddon talking about how his now-wife became pregnant before their marriage and how his daughter is a source of his strength.
"Preachers are very entertaining people," says Deitrick. See for yourself Oct. 9 at 10/9c.
