Acclaimed pastor, gospel singer, and star of Oxygen's upcoming Preachers of L.A., Deitrick Haddon is in the running for Best Gospel Artist at the 2013 BET Awards. The nomination comes after the success of the prolific artist's 16th album, A Beautiful Soul, released on Tyscot records in 2012. Haddon's put a modern day spin on the genre of spiritual song, what with flashy music videos, collaborations with popular mainstream artists like Faith Evans, and an overall up-to-date R&B sound. Haddon shares the category with fellow nominees Mary Mary, Lecrae, Tamela Mann, and Marvin Sapp -- and we're rooting for him! Tune in to the BET awards live on Sunday, June 30 at 8/7c.
