We asked The Glee Project contenders to tell us what inspires them. Heres what McKynleigh had to say.

Competition. Seeing that I am going up against people that are amazingly talented inspires me to be the best that I can be.
My Mom. She has taught me how to be tough. I spent every day of my life with her until I was 18 because I was homeschooled and she was my teacher. I got a lot of my sass and my strength from her.
My Daddy. When I was little he had a serenading service for special occasions and I would go with him, and I would take flowers and hand them over at the end of his song. I literally grew up watching my dad sing. I have no doubt that he has made me into the performer that I am today.
My Best friend Abby. She has taught me how to be the woman I have always wanted to be. She has inspired my song-writing and guitar playing, and she means the world to me.
The Market House Theatre in Paducah, KY has been my second home for thirteen years. My love for acting, singing and dancing has definitely been fueled by my home away from home my community theatre.
The song Don't Stop Believin'. Not only because this song on Glee! But right after one of my friends had gone through a really hard time in his life this was one of the songs he sang for a talent show and it really touched my heart when he sang it. It was like he was singing to me and telling us both to never stop believin.
Being an aunt. Just recently I became an aunt and since then my world has been completely changed. I know that whatever I do from now on is being watched by little eyes that will learn how to mimic very quickly. I knew as soon as my nephew was born that I was in love and that my life would never be the same.
Troubled Youth. I teach an improv class for at risk youth during the summer. Watching them go from dragging themselves through the room at the beginning of the summer to actually wanting to learn more by its end is certainly an inspiration. I know that I helped these kids find a part of themselves they didn't know existed.
