Wonder what happened to The Glee Project's Maxfield Camp, who was eliminated in the first episode of Season 2? Well he's certainly been keeping busy since competing for a spot on Glee! Scroll down for the Q&A, and tune into episodes of Glee, airing on Oxygen beginning October 12!
How much has your life changed since being on The Glee Project?
Drastically! My experience with The Glee Project really woke me up. I immediately knew that there was no going back from chasing my dreams of being the best dang songwriter this town's ever seen, and to be the most prolific actor I can. Ain't no stopping it. This is God's plan for me.
Where do you currently call home?
I'm still living in Nashville. I have a house with two buddies, James and Joey, and my two pups Tupac Shakur and Sadie Hawkins. It's killer because we all work in music and so the creating never sleeps.
What project is keeping you busy right now?
I am here in Nashville, songwriting and singing. I've been working closely with my roommate, James McNair, on our own project as well as writing with many people in town, including some great up and coming artists/writers like The Glee Project's very own Shanna Henderson, Disney's Tay Barton...to name a few. I have also found a love for acting here in Nashville. I have had to opportunity to work in TV (Nashville), commercials (Hayden Panettiere) and music vdeos (Luke Bryan - "That's My Kinda Night"). This has all just been a blessing.
Do you still keep in touch with the other contestants from your season or otherwise?
Absolutely, Shanna and I write a lot together here in Nashville. It's great to have her here in town, I love it! I talked to Abe, Aylin, Micheal, and Nellie these past couple of weeks. Everyone's so great, talented, and the kinda best friends you have that no matter the distance or the time between you --- you always pick up right where you left off. Grateful to have them in my life.
Looking back are there things you would have done differently during the competition during your season of The Glee Project?
We always catch ourselves saying, "man, if I could just go back and do this there then I would be here and life would be perfect," but we can't control the outcome of what's already happened. I wouldn't change a thing. If everything these past two years didn't happen the way they did, there's no telling where I would be today... definitely not here that for sure.
If you could choose one current Glee cast member to perform with, who would it be and why?
Dude, Blake all day. How sick would it be for two bros from The Glee Project getting up on stage to perform a killer song... right? Well.. I think it would be pretty cool.
What was your favorite song or performance from Glee Season 4?
The performance that captured my attention the most was when Jacob sang "Let Me Love You" by Ne-Yo in an episode called "Naked." I'd heard that song by Ne-Yo bunch on the radio at the time, but never stripped (pun intended.. naked ep.) it down to just piano and strings. The production, emotion, and dynamic was great.
