The second season of "The Vow" highlights what came of several NXIVM members, including leader-turned-convicted-sex-offender Keith Raniere. 

Nicki Clyne, Nancy Salzman and more former NXIVM members shared their thoughts on the cult in the documentary "The Vow," two years after Keith Raniere was found guilty of multiple charges.

“Sex, Lies and the College Cult” executive producers spoke to Oxygen.com about Larry Ray, whose crimes are the subject of the Peacock series.

After moving into his daughter’s Sarah Lawrence College dorm room, Larry Ray slowly exerted control over a group of students.

After Larry Ray started living in his daughter's dorm at Sarah Lawrence, he was able to form a predatory connection with some of the students he met there.

“When you look at people who have been in a cult, you certainly can’t separate them out in terms of their intelligence level or their sophistication,” Dr. Joni Johnston, a forensic psychologist and author of “Serial Killers: 101 Questions True Crime Fans Ask,” told Oxygen.com.

Larry Ray was able to bring a small group of Sarah Lawrence students under his control after moving into their dorm.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams described Larry Ray as an “evil man” who used “violence, threats and psychological abuse to try and control and destroy” the lives of his daughter’s friends.

"Devil in Ohio," starring Emily Deschanel and Madeline Arthur, is based upon some true events that happened in Ohio — but producers are playing coy about which ones. 

The FX series is based upon the real murders of Brenda Lafferty and her infant daughter Erica, killed by Ron and Dan Lafferty.
