It’s the best drinking time of year for John Thrasher — creamy, chocolatey holiday cocktail time.
This take on a classic Brandy Alexander uses Grand Marnier Louis Alexandre, a blend of VSOP cognac and orange liqueur. Created by Havier Herit, national brand ambassador for Grand Marnier, it’s a creamy treat with a hint of orange that’s an easy alternative to eggnog. I'm a big fan of this cocktail because it's like drinking a dessert — and made with my mom's favorite spirit, Grand Marnier.
Here’s how to make it:
1.5 ounces Grand Marnier Louis Alexandre
0.75 ounce heavy cream
0.25 ounce Crème de Cacao
1 dash of Angostura Bitters
Shake all the ingredients together, served straight up in a Port glass or a Nick & Nora coupe glass.
Garnish with some Grated Nutmeg on the top.
