Stanning is a tough business--especially when you get your fave celebrity mixed up with another one. In the era of social media, it gets next level embarrassing when confused fans post pictures of a celebrity they thought they met only to find out it was actually a different celebrity entirely. But it's not like these celebrities are trying to fake their identities, unlike some on Bravo's new show, Imposters, which premieres Feb. 7 at 10/9c.
The cast of Imposters, are just that: people assuming alter egos in order to get what they want. It's much more mysterious than say, Bret Michael's mistaking Kim Kardashian for Eva Longoria. In preparation for Bravo's new show Imposters, here are six times a celebrity was mistaken for another celebrity by a fan that will make you cringe.
1. The Time Kevin Hart Was Mistaken For Chris Rock
When a fan thought Kevin Hart was Chris Rock and asked him to pose for a photo as such, Hart was good humored about it, even posting the selfie to Instagram with the caption, “These are the moments that keep me Humble.”
2. The Time A Fan Hoped Darren Criss Was Kit Harrington
We get it. We all want to meet Jon Snow too. But this fan had to settle for Darren Criss, and took a selfie anyway, which Criss then posed to his Instagram with the following caption:
“"Hey... Are you Kit Harington?"
Me: aw sorry man I'm not
"Aw cuz if you were I'd kick myself if I didn't ask for a picture."
[he goes, disappointed]
Me: wait, can I get a picture though? To commemorate this moment?”
3. The Time Mark Wahlberg Was Totally Chill About Being Matt Damon
When Marky-Mark was mistaken for doppelganger Matt Damon, he posted the photo to his Facebook with the caption, “Close enough [smiley face]”. Turns out Wahlberg isn’t about to correct anyone for making the mistake--it can’t be all that bad to be one muscle bound sex symbol mistaken for another one after all.
4. The Time A News Anchor On Live TV Thought will.i.am was Wyclef Jean... Or Maybe Wale
We salute you if you can watch this without wanting to peel your own skin off. News anchor Blake Burman accidentally called will.i.am Wyclef Jean. When he was told it wasn’t, in fact, the Fugees member, he proceeded to confidently call him Wale instead. Oh boy.
5. The Time A Woman On “Billy On The Street” Thought Chris Pratt Was Chris Evans
You’d think Chris Pratt, after the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, would be a household name by now. Apparently not, but other Chris--Evans--sure is.
6. That Time Bret Michaels Thought Kim Kardashian Was Eva Longoria
Bret Michaels has since deleted this epic Tweet, in which he wishes Eva Longoria a happy birthday... with a picture of Kim Kardashian.
