8 Times Serena Williams Ignored The Haters and Won at Life

Forever our #WCW.

By Sharon Lynn Pruitt

Serena Williams is pretty much the best tennis player in the world. This truth has even more weight when you consider the racist, sexist crap that's been lobbed at her on and off the court. Still, despite the hate she has garnered in recent days because of her super sexy New York Magazine covershe's continued to thrive. Here are 8 times Serena Williams gave the middle finger to her haters and won at life.

1. That time she made history, nbd.

I am still pinching myself... I kinda can't believe I did this twice.... 😳😳 #SerenaSlam2.0

Serena Williams is the current champion of the US Open, Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon. Winning all four of those in a row is called a Serena Slam, and Serena has now done so twice (the first time was in 2003). You know you're doing good when they're naming records after you.

2. That time she made history - again

In April, Serena became the first black female athlete to grace the cover of Vogue solo. Breaking barriers is pretty much her thing at this point.

By now, you've probably seen the stunningly gorgeous photos of Serena in NY Mag. What better way to respond to her legions of haters by continuing to be unbelievably gorgeous?

4. Her fashion line.

From the runway to HSN, Serena is building a career in fashion, proving that this woman isn't only one of the best athletes of all time...she's smart and business-savvy too.

5. Her 7/11 video

Serena Williams+Beyonce= too much fabulousness for words.

6. This clip.

Also known as that time she won Wimbledon, looked gorgeous at the Champion's Dinner, danced with Novak Djokovic, and was basically a tennis goddess.

7. Her dance at the Olympics.

It's well-known that Serena's dance following her Olympic win was one of the best moments from the 2012 games.

8. That time she told the haters to know their place.
