Amber Rose Speaks On Being Fat-Shamed By The Media For Her Bikini Pics

She also hints that it could be a bit of karma due to Paris Hilton...

It seems like body-shaming is something that's just never going to go away, and that goes double for celebrities. Whether you're Oprah Winfrey or Wendy Williams or Wentworth Miller, body-shaming — as terrible and pointless as it is — seems like a mostly unavoidable part of being famous.

Amber Rose, who's pretty much known for being one of the most confident, body positive celebs making headlines these days, had to battle with yet another bout of body-shaming recently, and opened up about the experience with her fans.

On an episode of her podcast earlier this week, Rose addressed the currently-circulating paparazzi pics of her taken during a recent trip to Hawaii, revealing that they were altered to make her look "wider." She also addressed the body shaming that came shortly after the pics were released, and why she felt reluctant to address it.

"This week I got really fat shamed and body shamed because paparazzi took pictures of me on the beach," Amber began. "This is the thing — they 100 percent doctored those pictures, 100 percent. But, they made me wider, and I didn't say anything about it because I'm all for body positivity and I didn't want to come out and say 'This isn't me.' I was just like 'You know what? I do have cellulite. 100 percent I have cellulite. I'm a woman and I have a kid.'"

Amber went on to say that she used to hate on Paris Hilton back in Paris' glory days, but that she realizes now how harmful that type of girl-on-girl hate is, especially since she deals with it all the time now. And for the record? She has nothing but positive feelings for Paris now.

"She was poppin' and she was everywhere, right? I used to just sit at home and talk about her with my friends and be like 'She's such a stupid f*cking b*tch. She's famous for no reason, who the f*ck gives a f*ck about her just because she came from money?' And I used to say really horrible things about this girl. When I became famous, people said those things about me."

So, what's the lesson here? Don't be too quick to judge someone else for how they rose to fame because karma will have you dealing with the same kind of crap you used to dole out? Irony! At least Amber's learned from it all.
