Beenie Man was scheduled to perform at the OVO Fest in Toronto on Saturday night, but had to cancel his performance after learning he contracted the Zika virus.
According to Rolling Stone, the "Who Am I" singer's request for a Canadian visa was denied following his diagnosis. Ticketmaster confirmed that Beenie Man's appearance was cancelled, saying in a statement that he will no longer performing due to "immigration issues."
Beenie Man also posted a photo of himself undergoing blood testing on Instagram yesterday, writing in the caption, "No visa fi mi Canada show (I apologize again to my fans in case you haven't seen the press release). The same Zika mosquito gi mi dengue. Blood test, injections, pills. Wi a hol firm still."
