Need another reason to look forward to Disney's live-action Lion King remake? One word: Beyonce.
The "Flawless" singer will be lending her talent to the Jon Favreau-directed remake of the 1994 animated film, Huffington Post reports, as the voice of Simba's love interest Nala. Beyonce joins an already star-studded cast that includes Donald Glover as Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, and James Earl Jones reprising his role as — you guessed it — Mufasa.
"It is a director's dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life," Favreau said in a statement. The film will reportedly be similar in style to Favreau's 2016 CGI-heavy remake of The Jungle Book.
Disney released an updated casting announcement via social media on Wednesday and, unsurprisingly, fans are already losing it at the thought of Beyonce being in a Disney movie.
Are you ready for this? The Lion King is expected to hit theaters in the summer of 2019.
